Leon & Gina got married in an intimate celebration at Ellingham Hall near Alnwick back in the summer. We met up a few weeks before the big day and they chose to have their pre-wedding shoot at Ellingham Hall itself in and around the grounds so we could get to know each other a little more.
They are extremely relaxed in each others’ company and were a dream to photograph 🙂

They had a very stylish wedding, and had put so much thought and care into making their guests feel welcome in their marriage celebrations. Here’s the story of their big day.
The Vermont Hotel sits overlooking the Quayside in Newcastle with spectacular views. It’s recently been refurbished and is an amazing location for a chic city wedding.
The Secret Garden Florist in Jesmond provided the flowers for the day, which were in soft pinks and cream.
Aleisha got her stunning Justin Alexander dress from Bridal Wish on Blagdon Hall Estate. It had some amazing crystal detail on the side adding that extra bit of sparkle. Her veil also came from Bridal Wish.
The bridesmaid dresses, in a dusky pink colour, came from Debenhams. Each bridesmaid had a slightly different style of dress.
She wore No1 By Jenny Packham jewellery and made her own pair of custom Converse online, incorporating her love of leopard print had to be done!
The brides sister is a talented hairdresser- Kara Scott Hair Stylist and kept her cool whilst styling the hair of the entire bridal party, and herself, and being a bridesmaid! I was extremely impressed.
The talented Irene MUA was the make up artist for the wedding and was so lovely.
Nick was very chilled out all morning, even popping into the Bridge Hotel opposite the wedding venue to watch as much as the NUFC match as him and his groomsmen could.
After the ceremony guests braved the cold for drinks and canapés on the roof – there’s not many other places in Newcastle with such an amazing view so it was well worth it!
The reception took place in the ballroom at The Vermont. The decor was provided by Balloon Bedlam who but in an enormous amount of work to make the room spectacular!
The couple hired the giant LOVE letters from Coco Luminaire which really finished off the room.
The bride had yankee candles dotted around the room with different wedding or love related names.
The fabulous chocolate wedding cake came from Marks & Spencers and the smell was incredible!!!
Balloon Bedlam provided an amazing chocolate buffet in the evening and a drinks bar with quirky cocktails.
Congratulations to Aleisha & Nick and their family on their marriage and I wish you all the best for a very happy life together!

They met because of this little guy here, Murphy…after Sarah offered to look after him for Dan whilst he was away, so Murphy was a big part of both their pre-wedding shoot and their wedding.

It’s a unique venue, as it’s a working farm & brewery, with a hayloft barn outside, which is licensed for civil weddings. It’s one of the only venue in the North East where couples can sign the register in an outdoor area!
This appealed to creative bride Carrie, who wanted to bring in some rustic, DIY styling to the day and hang lots of bunting from the beams of the barn.
They got married on a rather windy, but mostly sunny July day.
Firstly I was warmly greeted at Phil’s parents house, where they already had the party started. Phil’s Mum was making sure everyone had plenty to eat.
Carrie surprised Phil with a few very thoughtful touches to help him on their wedding day!
Then it was on to see Carrie, who was getting ready with her sisters at home.
Carrie was all ‘bridified’ by Blossom Beauty Spa and the atmosphere was buzzing 🙂
Their lovely son,who is a happy little chappy, was curiously eying up everything that was happening. Carrie helped her Dad get ready and there were a few emotional moments.
The parents had personalised handkerchiefs with moving poems on delivered to them just before the ceremony which was very touching.
The ceremony was a real family affair, with little Maddox joining in for the first kiss and cuddles! He even tried to sign the register -bless him!
Carrie put an enormous amount of care into the favours for her guests. The men were given bottles of beer from the brewery, named ‘I Do Brew’ with personalised labels. The centrepieces of flowers in cute little bottles doubled at favours fro the ladies. Some of the younger guests got extra special pressies, and Maddox had a whole new plate and cutlery set for the special day. What a lovely idea!
The naked cake stack was made by Cakes By Becky and had lovely fresh floral touches and a personalised topper.
As it was Carrie’s sisters birthday the same day, they were presented with their own cake with personalised cake pops and the guests sang happy birthday to the lovely ladies.
Congratulations to Carrie & Phil on their big day. It was a truly beautiful, intimate and laid back wedding day which was a perfect start to married life for the couple.

Lewis is in the navy and had been away for around eight months prior to the wedding. It was therefore an extra special celebration to have everyone together at last.
My last wedding of 2014, and what a day it was!!
They chose the beautiful Ellingham Hall, near Alnwick in Northumberland as their fabulous wedding venue. Winter weddings here are extra special, with all the Christmas trees and trimmings.
Maddie chose a blue colour scheme to the day with touches of silver and snowflakes. I’m not sure if she had it in mind, but I felt there was a subtle ‘Frozen’ theme to their big day!
For the bride’s something blue, she wore the shoes made famous by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex & The City – Hangisi blue Manolo Blahnik heels. Wowza!
Her dress came from First Glance in Sunderland. Her stunning bouquet featured touches of blue and silver as well and was rather unusual. The bridesmaids had white roses and gypsophila.
It was very emotional when Maddie’s Dad came in to see her dressed up, it was clear they share a close bond and there were a few tears all round.
Their AMAZING four tier wedding cake was made by Dawn from The Master CakeSmith based round the corner in Ellingham. It had touches of sparkle and snowflakes and really tied in with the rest of their wedding.
Maddie surprised Lewis by hiring light up letters from Coco Luminaire . They really made the room!
Guests braved the cold to wave some sparklers around!
What a fantastic way to end 2014, and for Lewis & Maddie to begin 2015 as husband and wife.
