Wow! Jenny & Harry’s wedding was the first of the year for me, and one I won’t ever forget!
They chose to get married in January ‘to cheer everyone up at a rubbish time of year’. What an amazing plan. And cheer them up it did.
Their alternative, DIY wedding took place at Marsden Mechanics Hall, in the picturesque village of Marsden near Huddersfield. The hall is a brilliant community space, and is licensed for weddings, bonus. The venue, is also dog friendly – a huge tick from me…
Jenny wore her Mum’s original wedding dress, with alterations by Pocket Clothing.
Her brides squad went with a purple theme from JJs House. The whole day was very laid back, with friends and family pitching in to help with their DIY day. Jenny’s hair was fabulously styled by Le Keux Vintage Salon.
With a buffet in the afternoon, and Cornish pasties in the evening, as a nod to Harry’s Cornish heritage, everything was informal & everyone was well fed.
Their wedding would not have been complete without their very own rock band, Polybius, who well and truly got the party started… I’ve never had a mosh pit at a wedding before…but I feel they should be compulsory. Their DJ (& friend) was Tiff Mahoney.
It was a grey day, and rained for much of it, but inside the atmosphere was warm and so much fun. We managed to pop out for some relaxed couples portraits around the village and had such a giggle.
I truly felt like part of their gang. Thank you so much for having me Jenny & Harry! Here are some highlights of their fantastic day…
Congratulations guys!
