Chris & Lisa (Gibside Pre-wedding shoot)

Chris & Lisa are getting married in July in a humanist wedding ceremony at Gibside Estate, near Rowlands Gill.

I met up with them to run through their plans and also see the grounds and wedding locations, and we took some relaxed photographs as part of our walk around.

Their wedding day is going to be very relaxed and I can’t wait to be part of it!

Phil & Carrie (Tynemouth Pre-wedding shoot)

Phil & Carrie are getting married in July at High House Farm Brewery. We met up at Tynemouth beach for their relaxed pre-wedding shoot, and their little boy joined in the fun.

Carrie brought along a huge pink balloon to add some more colour to the shoot.

A pastel, vintage inspired DIY wedding at Eshott Hall (Katie & Phil)

Katie & Phil got married last August at St. Mary’s Church and had their reception at Eshott Hall in Northumberland.

The couple and their family but an enormous amount of effort into DIYing so many things for their wedding, much of the decor and had a vintage inspired theme.

Katie’s dress came from YAP Bridal in Newcastle, absolutely love the lace touches. The bridesmaid dresses were Button Belle, also from YAP Bridal.

The shoes were a design called ‘Katie’ by Rachel Simpson.

Victoria Holdstock was the make up artist.

Katie had personalised mugs and pyjamas for her lovely bridesmaids – how sweet!

The mens suits came from Slaters menswear and the waistcoats were in Northumberland tartan from the aptly named The Northumberland Tartan Company.

The gorgeous bouquets came from Lavenders Blue in Morpeth, the wildflowers were colourful and perfectly complimented the wedding theme. There were daisies dotted about and Katie also wore daisies in her plait.

The pale mint green camper van from All Cool Camper hit, complimented the wedding colours beautifully.

Katie & Phil really personalised Eshott Hall to make it their own, even adding homemade cushions onto the sofa, and family photographs in frames on the table.

Their huge cupcake tower and cake came from Dreamworld Cakes.

There were some very emotional and personal speeches said with a few giggles too!

After the meal Katie & Phil popped outside with me to capture some photographs in the soft afternoon light.

Colin Cook provided the music for the evening and everyone enjoyed having a good dance along!

Kelham Island Pre-wedding shoot Sheffield (Kate & Richard)

Kate & Richard booked me over the phone and emails so their pre-wedding shoot was the first time we’d met. They are getting married at Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield this weekend.

We decided to do their pre-wedding shoot at the venue itself, as there are so many photographic opportunities there and areas to explore.

I realised very quickly that Kate & Richard are a fun couple, like being big kids together, and don’t take life too seriously. We had a lot of fun messing around, them jumping off walls, and Richard even suggested climbing into the end of a large pipe that was outside the museum, it made a really unique photograph too.

Here are the highlights of their shoot. I am so looking forward to their big day, I don’t want to give away any secrets incase their guests are reading but they have lots of fun planned to celebrate their marriage!

A humanist ceremony at Gibside for Chris & Lisa

Lisa and Chris decided to throw out the rule book when it came to planning their wedding. They wanted somewhere unique with a woodland feel to get married. Unfortunately because of the rules surrounding legal weddings in England there’s not many places you can actually get married outside. So they decided to ‘do the legal bit’ the day before at the civic centre (Which I also photographed for them) and then have a very personalised humanist ceremony the day after at Gibside Estate, Near Rowlands Gill, which is run by the National Trust.

Lisa also had her heart set on wearing a red dress rather than traditional white or ivory. The structure for the day were also more unusual. There were around 30 guests in total for the ceremony part of the day, with the ladies & men having lunch separately before the ceremony which was so lovely! It made everything relaxed and fun.

When it came to the ceremony, the guests assembled outside of the Banqueting House cottage and Lisa walked around the corner down the aisle with her brother, Adam.

The ceremony was really personal and moving. Straight after, champagne was poured, confetti thrown and speeches were said. After a bit of mingling time, there was then a few group and couples photographs taken and guests headed down to the marquee on the lawn at Gibside.

At the marquee, there were lots of hugs as more guests arrived for an early evening BBQ and music. It was a really chilled out atmosphere, exactly what the couple were wanting.

Chris & Lisa chose to have a wander in the gardens for a few more photographs before we headed off.

It was so wonderful to shoot the wedding of Chris & Lisa, who decided to have such a personal day and not be bound by tradition and ‘rules’ and get married the way they wanted to!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Major on their marriage and all the best for the future.
