When Katy & Flora first got in touch, I was immediately excited! They were getting married in The Hepworth Art Gallery in Wakefield. I began my photography career round the corner at Wakefield College, almost 20 years ago, one of my first projects was on black and white film at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park photographing some of Barbara Hepworth’s work!
This pair were planning a relaxed, laid back day, with a ceremony in the gallery, drinks reception with epic canapés, and a veggie feast later on. It actually rained for much of their wedding day…but it didn’t dampen spirits (see what I did there?), and when the rain stopped we got out for some fun couples photos.
It was one of the most genuinely heartwarming, emotional weddings i’ve been part of. Flora & Katy just have this immense love for each other, and genuine compatibility that is honestly rarely seen.
In the evening they put on a swing dance workshop for their guests, which was lots of fun.
