Hello! I’m Katie…. that’s me in the sea taking photographs of a just married couple… I don’t get to go in the sea at sunset at many weddings so as you can see I was in my element!

If you’ve come to this page then you’d like to know a little more about me..

I like drinking coffee and eating cheese a bit too much. I have two feline fur babies , Vincent & Lou Lou. Both rescue cats, they enjoy sitting with me and overseeing my editing… I love road trips out to the beautiful Northumberland coast and spending time with loved ones. I’m a big kid, and love mini-golf, adventure playgrounds and having a paddle at the beach. I’d love a dog one day and often dog sit or dog walk for friends. As a big Potterhead, I’m still hoping to get my Hogwarts letter one day.

My partner Chris is also a wedding photographer and we often get to work together.

I caught the photography bug eleven years ago, after doing A-level photography on a whim at college. I’m a Yorkshire lass, and  in 2006 I moved up to the North East to study photography at university. I fell in love with Newcastle and have been here ever since, besides a nine month stint in Australia on a study abroad semester.

So, what are my favourite parts of a wedding day?
Well, there are many. But I love the moment the couple first see each other, the smile, the glances..the giggles they get during the ceremony. I love it when the couple really focuses on each other and says their vows with meaning. If my couple are nervous before walking down the aisle, I tell them ‘Forget about everyone else, blur them out, pretend no-one is there, and say your vows to each other’.
I love the speeches, the funny ones, the sad ones….. and I love hearing about how a couple met or got engaged.
I love capturing the interaction between the family, friends and between the couple themselves.
And of course, I love cake. Who doesn’t love cake?
If you book me for your wedding, you should know that i’m honest, chatty, down to earth and that I absolutely adore my job.
