I met Kaye and Dan almost a couple of years ago as guests at another wedding, and was thrilled they stayed in touch and wanted me to be their wedding photographer.
Having been to so many friends weddings over the last few years, Kaye & Dan were thrilled it was finally their turn to have their special day, along with their lovely son, Alfie to share the celebrations.
They chose to have an intimate wedding with around 40 guests, at the fabulous Lumley Castle near Chester-le-Street. The castle is a very unique hotel, it was originally built in 1400’s and the sense of history & grandeur can be seen throughout.
Carli from The Big Event provided hair & make up services for Kaye, who looked stunning! Kaye’s wedding dress was “Helen’ by Diane Harbridge .
They tied the knot in the Scarborough Room, followed by drinks outside, and their reception in the extremely impressive Baron’s Hall.
Kaye had five bridesmaids and two flower girls, and Dan had best man (& cake maker) Chris as best man, along with two groomsmen.
Kaye’s brother walked her down the aisle and looked extremely proud to do so.
The couple chose to have several readings and a candle lighting ceremony during their wedding ceremony, making it extremely personal and they also giggled their way through some part!
After the ceremony we took some time to do some bride & groom and group photographs, I absolutely loved the cherry blossom tree in front of the castle so this featured in quite of few of their photographs.
They had a travel theme to their wedding, with the showcase piece being their AMAZING travel themed cake that Chris made, representing the fact the couple met whilst working in Cyprus. I’ve never seen a wedding cake quite like it!
Kaye & Dan also chose and created some lovely travel themed items sourced from various places online.
In the evening, they had another drinks reception with their friend Chloe Chadwick singing, and later on we popped out for a couple of night time photographs.
A huge big congratulations to Mr & Mrs Finn on their marriage, and I wish them all the very best for their future together.
