Esme & Sam got married last weekend, after being together for over ten years. They had a personal, humanist ceremony surrounded by woodland. It took place at Angrove Park, followed by a glamping reception with veggie food! I have known Esme for a few years as we both went to Sunderland University, and she’s also a wedding photographer based in Warwickshire.
A few days before their wedding, they had some important paperwork to fill in to legalise their marriage ahead of their big day.
Esme asked if I’d be up for documenting this and then having a fun shoot afterwards to help get them used to being on the other side of the camera.
Of course I jumped at the chance! The short legal ceremony took place at Sunderland Civic Centre, and afterwards we took some photographs around the area, including in a dingy, flooded car park…and at the beach! Being a photographer herself, Esme thankfully trusted my vision. Her and Sam were more than happy to dodge the puddles and the cars in the car park. They even suggested creating their own smoke effects through the magic of vaping, haha!
Thanks so much for having me capture part of your wedding story and I hope you have an amazing honeymoon guys!!
Here’s some highlights of the day…
