Katy & Chris got married in August at Ellingham Hall, about 10 miles north of Alnwick. The couple met whilst working at Waterstones book shop, and we did their pre-wedding shoot at Barter Books in Alnwick. They had a colourful and book themed wedding. They chose the colour orange to because of the classic ‘Penguin’ books which was such a cool idea.
The very personal, Penguin Book themed bunting came from Emma Bunting. She also dressed the hall in bunting (which is available to hire), and look out later for some bunting touches on the cake!
Katy handcrafted the paper hearts out of books and these were hung on the back of the chairs to add a personal touch.
Victoria, of Pins, Petals & Powder did all of the amazing flowers, hair and make up for the wedding, what a talented lady! The flowers were gorgeous wildflower blooms with lots of colour. Katy & Chris decided to do away with tradition and chose not to have bridesmaids & groomsmen, instead spending time with close family and friends.
Katy’s gorgeous White Rose lace dress was from Mia Sposa in Newcastle.
There were some rather emotional moments when Katy’s Dad first laid eyes on his daughter as a beautiful bride. Absolutely love seeing a bride in glasses!
Katy crafted confetti cones out of pages of books, in keeping with the literary theme. Love it!
Ellingham Hall have a new swing in the trees, which makes for some fun photographs!
Katy spent a lot of time hand making the book themed jars, and table runners, as well as the place settings. So much work went into making their wedding very personal.
The amazing cake was a bringing together of three fantastic wedding suppliers. The cake itself was made by Dawn from The Master Cakesmith who is based round the corner from Ellingham Hall. It had beautiful, simple pearl detailing on it and three different flavours. The flower touches cake from Victoria at Pins, Petals and Powder , and the personalised cake bunting from Emma Bunting. Wow!!
The new Mr & Mrs Hancock planned a special first dance, to ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ which was brilliant!
What a fun and special day their wedding was! Thanks so much to Mr & Mrs Hancock for having me along for the ride 🙂
Congratulations!!!
