Last Wednesday I met Faye & Robin in York for their pre-wedding shoot. They are having a church wedding in Clayton West, Huddersfield in August, followed by their reception at Bagden Hall, which is in the next village to where I grew up! Back in January 2010 I shot the wedding of Hannah & Sam, At Anvil Hall in Gretna Green, and Faye & Robin are good friends of the couple, who recommended me to shoot their wedding, how lovely!
Faye is a keen wedding blogger herself, (See her blog here) and was very keen to have some photographs that showed their personalities and interests. The couple got engaged in York, and have spent lots of time there. It’s a very special place to them and during the afternoon we got chatting about lots of memories they’ve had there.
Here is just a small preview of the pre-wedding shoot, with more to come soon. After a quick coffee and chat, we went to the Museum Gardens, which houses the Hospitium, which is a popular York wedding venue, then walked around the city centre, the Shambles, Cliffords Tower, York Opera House, the River. It was a dull day weather wise so I was looking for lots of colour to add in. They stopped at the market to buy some orange gerberas which are Faye’s favourite, and these added a nice touch to the photographs and were very vibrant against Faye’s dress.
I had a great time and am thoroughly looking forward to their wedding in August!
I will blog some more images from this shoot too!
I actually went into the shop to move some suitcases around for the above shot, hehe!
Above is the glorious York Minster which is one of my favourite places in York, absolutely stunning architecture and a very special place.
